Intel Core 2 Duo E4300: Affordable and Highly Overclockable @ anandtech.com

At default speeds, the E4300 isn't all that impressive in the grand scheme of things; it's effectively a slightly cheaper, slightly slower E6300. But much like the E6300, much of the appeal of the E4300 comes from overclocking - and overclock it does. Compared to other Core 2 CPUs, the E4300 doesn't set any new overclocking records but at the price it's a true bargain.

Year 2007 Preview: Predictions and Rumors - Central Processing Units

“Apparently Intel's future plans are on the 65nm and the 45nm. Somewhere near the end of 2007 we should see the release of Penryn, a dual-core CPU for laptops on the 45nm architecture and with 3-6MB L2 cache -- that's huge.

On the desktop, the Allendale Core2 family will be extended, and newer product releases are expected on the 65nm. Intel will also hit the 45nm field for desktops with the Yorkfield and Wolfdale, two new core releases. The first one is quad-core (2x6MB L2 cache) while the second one is dual-core (6MB L2 cache). In the server and workstation fields there are no great expectations. But there is the possibility of future releases of the Tigerton and Harpertown.”

Pentium E şi Celeron 400

Se pare că cele două procesoare vor fi lansate la începutul lunii iunie, arhitectura Core acoperind astfel toate segmentele pieţei desktop. Vom avea în sfârşit soluţii (viabile ) din partea Intel şi în categoria de preţ sub 100$ prin Pentium E2160 (1.8GHz/1MB L2/800MHz FSB/84$) şi E2140 (1.6GHz/.1MB L2/800MHz FSB/74$), care vor înlocui Pentium D-urile.

Celeron D 440 (2GHz/512KB L2/800MHz FSB/59$) şi Celeron D 430 (1.8GHz/512KB L2/800MHz FSB/49$) sunt destinate segmentului entry level, oferind, teoretic, performanţe mult mai bune decât Celeroanele actuale fără a funcţiona la aceleaşi frecvenţe ameţitoare.

varzmaster==caligula?

Nehalem will no longer use a FSB but a serial point to point interconnect. Even more revolutionary is the fact that Nehalem will have an integrated memory controller (IMC) and that the number of serial interconnects is variable (Intel's version of "HyperTransport"). Another potentially groundbreaking move is that some Nehalem CPUs will have a GPU integrated (Intel's version of "Fusion"). With an integrated memory controller, new interconnect, and potentially integrated graphics, Nehalem will obviously require a new socket.

Intel would not give any more detail, but it is clear that the GPU will not be high-end (that would require too much power); more likely it will be a kind of midrange (or even low-end depending on your perspective) solution.

Mie imi suna a marketing 100%.

L.E. Magistrala este traducerea in limba romana a termenului bus.
